Happy retirement Gerry!

Spending 41 years nestled in the insurance industry is nothing to shake your feathers at! It demands dedication, a whole lot of insurance knowledge, and genuine care for your clients. Gerry Corrigal has all that, and more!

Gerry has lived, attended school, and worked in St. Vital his whole life.  He joined the family business with his father Ron in November 1977 and in 1990, Gerry, along with his brother, Steve, became the third generation of family at McElhoes + Duffy Insurance Brokers. Both Gerry’s dad and grandpa were huge influences on his long career in the industry, not to mention the other broker owners across the country.

Throughout his career, Gerry has been the president of the Insurance Brokers Association of Manitoba, president of the Society of Fellows insurance organization, director of the Insurance Institute of Manitoba, and chair of the General and Administrative Council for the Province of Manitoba.  He was also an essential and fundamental part of establishing the Young Brokers Network.

Gerry loves to develop insurance programs that are tailored to specific clients, such as restaurants, vehicle trades, or trucking.

In 2016, Gerry joined our team, as Brio Insurance acquired McElhoes + Duffy. Gerry brought with him his years of knowledge and became a valued member of our nest. We loved getting to know him, his sense of humour, and listening to his stories.

So, we are left with mixed feelings as Gerry prepares to spread his retirement wings and leave our nest at the end of the month. We are thankful for the time we’ve had to work with Gerry, and the knowledge he so kindly passed on to our team. Most importantly, we will miss having him around.

Happy retirement Gerry!
