New drivers.

The first step to driving in Manitoba is to become a client of Manitoba Public Insurance (MPI). Here’s how:

  1. Prepare the documents you need by completing the Proving My Identity Wizard tool on the MPI website.
  2. Contact your local Brio Insurance branch for support to figure out what ID is required.
Hot Tip
You’ll need to come in yourself to become an MPI client, as someone else can’t do this for you. If you’re under 18, please bring a parent or guardian with you.

Cancelling, changing, or updating your driver’s license.

If at any time you wish to cancel or change your driver’s license, Brio Insurance is here to help.

Hot Tip
When you move within Manitoba, you need to change your address within 15 days. If not, you could be fined for having an outdated license. AND when you visit Brio Insurance to update your license, we will have to retake your photo. Yes, even if you just got it done recently.

New haircut? Need an update? If you’re ever unhappy with your driver’s license photo, you can come in to have it retaken anytime (for a $10 charge).

But we’ll make sure you see your photo when you renew and retake it as needed until you’re satisfied.
